Folding Electric Wheelchairs

A wheelchair that folds in seconds changes how often it actually gets used. Our folding line is built around one idea: a power chair that fits in a car trunk, a train luggage rack, or behind a hotel door β€” without tools, without lifting 30 kilograms, without calling a family member for help.

Why Folding Matters More Than Most Specs

Buyers compare motor power and battery capacity first, but the spec that decides daily life is the folded size. A chair that needs a van and a ramp gets used twice a week. A chair that folds flat and slides behind a car seat gets used every day. Every folding model we build is designed around the moment of transfer: fold, lift, store, go.

Our 5000-series carbon steel folding frames fold in a single motion β€” no removable parts to lose, no pins to align. The frame locks automatically in the folded position, so the chair can be carried by one handle like a large suitcase.

What to Check Before Buying a Folding Power Chair

Folded dimensions. Measure your car trunk before you measure anything else. Then compare the folded size on the spec sheet β€” length, height and depth all matter, not just weight.

Frame material and weight. Carbon steel is the workhorse: strong, repairable and affordable. If the chair will be lifted often, look at our aluminium 6000 series or carbon fiber 7000 series β€” same folding geometry, lighter frame.

Battery options. We offer 12Ah for lighter weight and 20Ah for longer range. Both are airline-friendly formats. If you travel weekly, take the 20Ah; if you lift the chair daily, the 12Ah keeps total weight down.

Seat width. Folding frames come in 17–19 inch seat widths. Measure the user seated, hip to hip, and add one inch β€” a seat that is too narrow is the most common reason a chair ends up unused.

Our Folding Lineup

The 5000 series is our folding foundation: economy models, headrest models, and reclining versions for users who nap in the chair. Every model shares the same folding lock, the same controller options, and the same FDA/CE certified electronics. The 6000 and 7000 series add aluminium and carbon fiber frames for buyers who prioritize weight above all.

Travel and Airline Tips

All our folding models use sealed lead-acid or lithium batteries in airline-approved capacities. When flying: fold the chair at the gate, not at check-in, so you can use it through the airport. Detach the joystick and carry it in your hand luggage β€” it is the most expensive component to replace and the easiest to damage. If the airline asks for battery documentation, our spec sheets list UN38.3 test references for lithium packs.
